This is a reminder that the deadline for paper and poster abstracts for the Australian and New Zealand Agri-Food Research Network conference is September 17. If you wish to present a paper or poster please ensure that you submit your abstract by this date. Please note that there has been a small change to the abstract submission procedures: rather than sending abstracts to Linda Mink you should now send these directly to me (vaughan.higgins@monash.edu). If you have sent an abstract to Linda since August 27 please re-send it to my email address.

I am pleased to advise that the special themed sessions for this year's conference have now been finalised, and details are available on the conference website (see: http://www.gippsland.monash.edu.au/agrifood/). The sessions are:
 

• Future food security in Australia and New Zealand
• Public health, sustainable environments and agri-food futures
• Carving up the landscape
• Value chains for development
• Gender, climate change and social restructuring
• Financialisation in the agri-food sector

If you believe that your work accords with one of these themes, please indicate which theme you wish to be considered for when you submit your abstract. We also welcome papers for the conference that engage with agri-food issues, but which do not accord with the above themes.
