The 2nd Asia-Pacific STS Network Conference 19-21 July 2011, Shenyang China

Abstracts and papers are invited according to the conference theme: STS and the new knowledge society: negotiating innovation, risk, trust, culture & development - Deadline:  1 April 2011.

The conference is the second biannual conference of the Asia‐Pacific Science, Technology & Society (STS) Network (APSTSN). APSTSN forums bring together researchers involved in STS in the Asia-Pacific — East Asia, Southeast Asia, Australasia and Oceania. The APSTSN aims to encourage regional STS collaboration in the Asia-Pacific; foster critical discussion on current themes and issues; fill an important regional gap in global STS scholarship and knowledge; seek wide representation from regional STS communities, with a strong focus on decision-making and policy, in addition to other STS areas of scholarship.

Sub-themes (or mix thereof):
1.     Environment and/or energy, climate change, and sustainability 
2.     Administration and/or public policy, citizenship and public engagement
3.     Culture and/or innovation & development
4.     Emerging technosciences
5.     Others seen as relevant to the conference theme
