  • NIRRA will act as an outreach centre to bring together and consolidate ANU's research and policy expertise on issues in rural and regional Australia.
  • NIRRA will promote graduate courses and higher degree students working on issues on rural and regional Australia.
  • NIRRA will host policy symposia which address and debate issues of concern to rural and regional Australia.
  • NIRRA will host seminars and public lectures which will provide a platform for the wider community to learn about scholarly work in rural and regional Australia.
  • NIRRA will host a website to promote networking of researchers and policy makers across Australia and Internationally
  • NIRRA will promote a range of Visiting Fellowships which will provide the opportunity for key policy officers and policy makers to spend time working with ANU academics on key issues of interest in rural and regional Australia.
